There are actually more than 20 different types of Candida that live on the many surfaces of your body. Usually, though, your immune system keeps these potentially harmful yeasts in check. Probiotics

Probiotics are good bacteria that boost health when they are taken orally and are allowed to grow and multiply in the body [3]. Bacteria from the Lactobacillus andBifidobacterium families are especially well known for being able to resist digestion by gastric acid, bile salts and pancreatic enzymes and go on to grow and multiply in the GI tract [4]. Oral lactobacillus supplements have also been shown to increase the numbers of lactobacilli in the vagina [5].
B. subtilis is especially suited for colonizing the gastrointestinal tract because it is a spore-forming bacteria. Most bacteria are susceptible to any acidic pH range, mainly thriving in the more alkaline lower GI, but spores are able to withstand a broader range of variables in regards to pH and temperature ranges. This improves the chances that the probiotic strain will properly colonize the GI tract.
Using probiotics to kill yeast is not a new idea. Various strains of probiotic bacteria, including members of the lactobacillus family, have been used for years in the manufacturing process as anactive preservative against yeast [6]. This is because probiotics produce a number of different compounds that can kill yeasts, like hydrogen peroxide [7-9].
Yeast thrives in environments without a lot of oxygen. By producing hydrogen peroxide, the probiotics in Syntol create an extremely oxygen-rich environment, which acts like a poison, effectively killing the excessive yeast. Once the yeast is gone, this oxygen-rich environment provides the ideal growing conditions for healthy bacteria, which reestablishes a healthy balance in the body.
The protective effects of probiotics is also due to the fact that they compete for space on the lining of the GI tact, mouth and vagina [7,8,10,11]. If the yeasts can't attach themselves to a stable surface, they can't grow and multiply. Finally, probiotics boost the immune system, enhancing the body's innate ability to fight against Candida overgrowth [8,12-15].
Because of these effects in the body, studies have shown that oral probiotics can suppress the growth of Candida in the intestines, as well as effectively treat thrush in the elderly and vaginal yeast infections in women [16-21]. There is also evidence that taking probiotics can help protect against any future recurrences of Candidiasis [22].
Prebiotics
Syntol maximizes the potential of its probiotic formula by combining it with the prebiotic inulin. Inulin is a type of fiber that can't be digested by the body.
